Mt. Si / Little Si
| APRIL 6, 2006 - A Muntaineers hike - part of the Basic Wilderness Travel Course. We sampled every weather type on this Easter Sunday hike: sun, rain, clouds, snow, hail, rain, sun. This short loop trail begins at the Little Si trailhead in Northbend and travels through woods and a large group of moss-covered boulders that give the trail its name. Karen described this trail as being several trails and roads cobbled together into a new trail, but the trail was unmarked the day we hiked it. Typical of an outing with Karen, we found ourselves traveling off trail to get a better view of the surrounding area. It felt like winter, but wildflowers were already in bloom. |
