Gold Creek Basin
Snoqualmie Pass
| MARCH 24, 2007 - A Mountaineers snowshoe tour. It was a rainy day when we set off on this
snowshoe, but the temperature was mild, and the clouds did not detract
from the beauty of the scenery. We hiked through the woods and a
wide valley, while Kendall Peak and Rampart Ridge loomed ghostlike in
the fog. A traverse around the lake was stunning, but because the
rain became heavy around noon, we only stopped for a brief snack break
before moving on. A few geese were walking on the frozen lake, and
others flew overhead.
