AUGUST 15, 2007  It was a hot day when I day-hiked to Spectacle Lake on our day off from the WTA work vacation, but the temperature of Spectacle Lake made for a refreshing swim.  Other members of the work crew (Ryan, Dave, Laurie, and Jane) also headed for Spectacle Lake in separate groups.  I counted 34 switch backs to the Spectacle Lake trail, which drops steeply from a high point of 4300' to the lake at 4239'.

Spectacle Lake was even more beautiful than I anticipated, and the bright blue sky made a perfect backdrop for Lemah Mountain and Three Queens Mountain.
