Wallace Falls
Woody Trail
5 miles roundtrip
| FEBRUARY 17, 2007 - A solo hike. The Woody trail
at Wallace Falls State Park was heavily used on this warm Saturday.
Wallace Falls, which is visible from nearby Highway 2, is 265'
high. A sign near the start of the trail quotes Wordsworth:
"Come forth into the light of things. Let nature be your teacher."
The trail follows the course of the Wallace River through a moss draped
forest before it crosses the river and climbs up to the first of 3
viewpoints of the falls. After leaving the lower falls viewing
area, the trail becomes more steep and switchbacks up through a second
growth forest to viewpoints of the middle and upper falls.
